Bewerbung in Melbourne

Aus diesem Grund werde ich mal hier in "down under" bewerben. Nur die Visafrage macht mir noch etwas zu denken... aber auch diesen Papierkrieg ist zu bewältigen.

Anbei ein Ausschnitt meines Motivationsschreiben.

Dear Sirs

I am currently looking for a challenge in the financial industry in Australia and would like to discuss potential job opportunities with you. Further, I am particularly interested in Investment Banking, FX – Trading and Product Controlling.

Following successful completion of a Bachelor of Business Administration, specialising in Banking and Finance in November 2004, I spent two years working for Credit Suisse Switzerland. After initially undertaking an internship (in General Banking) I then worked within the Product Controlling Department where I was responsible for the monitoring of the Fixed Income trading desk and for price testing of OTC Equity Derivatives. Additionally, I was responsible for preparing a performance report for senior management. One of the most challenging tasks with this role was improving different price testing procedures.

Through my employment at Credit Suisse, I have developed a sound knowledge in Fixed Income products and Equity Derivatives, as well as a good understanding of the banking processes. I also consider my knowledge of the Swiss equity market and its stock universe a transferable skill, which I believe could be very useful for a role such as a Product Control Analyst in the Australian Financial market. I am also familiar with the basic application of Bloomberg and Reuters. Furthermore my first language is German and I have a basic knowledge of French.

To further develop my English, I moved to Australia last year to undertake a 3 month course. After completing a Certificate in Advanced English from Cambridge University, I then travelled around Australia to learn more about the culture and way of life. I have recently decided that I would like to work in a financial role in Australia, and have since progressed my financial skills, passing the Chartered Financial Analyst exam Level I in June 2007.

I have attached a copy of my curriculum vitae for your perusal. I look forward to hearing from you soon, to discuss suitable employment opportunities.

Yours faithfully

Christian Mathis
